Square released Secret of Mana, known in Japan as Seiken Densetsu 2, in 1993 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. This action role-playing game follows three young heroes: Randi, a boy exiled from his village, Primm, a determined girl searching for her lost love, and Popoi, a mischievous sprite who lost their memory. Together, they set out to restore the power of the Mana Sword and stop the Empire from awakening the ancient Mana Fortress. The game blends real-time combat with deep RPG progression, letting players swing weapons, cast magic, and charge attacks for stronger blows. Its standout feature is the cooperative multiplayer system, which allows up to three friends to play at the same time using the Super Multitap accessory.
