Sonic Riders is a futuristic racing game starring Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends. Sega published the title and Sonic Team USA developed it as part of the wider Sonic franchise. The game brings a fresh spin to the series by trading classic running stages for high speed hoverboard action. Players ride Extreme Gear, a type of air board that glides across tracks filled with ramps, rails, and shortcuts. Each character belongs to one of three styles, including Speed, Fly, and Power, and every type can access different paths through a course.
