The Legend of Zelda Four Swords Adventures is an action adventure game that Nintendo published for the GameCube in 2004. Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development handled production, with input from the team behind earlier Zelda titles. The game takes the classic top down perspective of older Zelda entries and pairs it with a fresh multiplayer focus. Players take control of four versions of Link who must work together to defeat the dark sorcerer Vaati and stop the shadow Link from spreading chaos across Hyrule. The story unfolds across many themed stages rather than one large open world, which gives the game a level based structure that feels different from most Zelda titles. What makes this title stand out is its support for Game Boy Advance connectivity. Each player connects a Game Boy Advance to the GameCube using a link cable, and the handheld acts as a personal screen for caves, menus, and private events. Navi Trackers appears only in the Japanese version and turns the action into a competitive treasure hunt. Combat sticks to the simple sword swinging style of older Zelda games, but the four player chaos adds fresh strategy. Players must share rupees, divide bosses, and sometimes lift each other to reach high ledges. Items like the bow, boomerang, bombs, and gnat hat appear across stages and shape how teams solve puzzles. The varied levels include haunted villages, pirate ships, sky castles, and a fiery volcano, so the pacing stays fresh from start to finish.
